Tips for Using Glitter In Your Wedding Decor

  • Depending on the vision for your wedding, sparkly linens are a fun + chic addition to reception decor or cocktail hour whether for all of the tables, half of the tables or just the head table.
  • If you are having guests throw petals post-ceremony, accent the petals with glitter by using glitter spray paint; this adds a fun, creative touch when thrown in the air and comes out beautifully in photos.
  • The edge of thick stationery or having an all glitter envelope in your invitation suite is a nice touch (Envelopes.com has the best glitter envelopes that don’t get glitter everywhere on your guests).

  • Spruce up plain votives by wrapping their base with glitter tape or ribbon for a fun touch on your tablescape.
  • Block letters can be used anywhere within your cocktail reception or reception to add decor elements – the ampersand or the letters can easily be sprayed or painted sparkly.
  • Gold or silver glitter dipped feathers add an adorable touch to a boho inspired wedding; you can use these as a guestbook pen or place cards.
  • Place cards could be done in fine glitter or even just a small floral design on each place card accentuated with glitter.
  • For your bridesmaids, gift each with a mini bottle of champagne covered in glitter to add sparkle.
  • If you are getting married somewhere that allows you to hang things, a big wooden monogram covered in glitter would catch evening light beautifully during your reception.

  • If your venue/rentals allow it, add glitter to the tops of your tables at the cocktail hour lounge area, best if the tops are completely covered to give the lounge a rich/full look. Also, best if your lounge is inside or there is minimal to no wind outside.
  • Edible dust or edible gold is a nice touch on cupcakes or other petite desserts. Most guests will find it a pleasant surprise that you can eat the dust or gold!
  • Glitter straws or sticks add a fun element to your signature cocktails.
  • Line the base of your champagne glasses with gold glitter, either fine or chunky glitter or both to give a fuller look. With a pink champagne, this gives your wedding toasts a pretty new spin.
  • Glitter bridesmaids dresses or flower girl dresses make for a subtle pop of glitter within your wedding details and photos.
