Royal Wedding 2018

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement last year, their wedding is the event that the world has been talking about and, like most of the world, we couldn’t wait to see the wedding day unfold….

Kensington Palace had already confirmed that the super talented Philippa Craddock had been chosen as the royal wedding florist and Claire Ptak of Violet Bakery in London  had been named as the wedding cake designer. The wedding invitations were printed by London stationery company, Barnard & Westwood and invited guests to St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, to celebrate the Royal wedding on 19th May 2018 and like millions of others, we loved every minute of it!

Here are some of our favourite elements of the day:

WEDDING DRESS: The question on everyone’s lips was “what will Meghan wear?”… and she did not disappoint. Like many brides, Meghan chose two dresses for her wedding day.  Her day dress was a timeless couture gown, designed by Clare Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy, the dress was classically chic and perfect for a Royal wedding. The second dress was also incredibly stylish, a halter-neck fishtail gown, designed by Stella McCartney for the evenings celebrations at Frogmore House.

THE CEREMONY: A unique ceremony, full of love and laughter, a beautifully elegant bride, a rather dapper groom dressed in military uniform and a service designed with the couples individuality at the heart of everything. Whilst it was a Royal wedding and certain traditions had to be followed, it really was exactly how a wedding should be, a fabulous celebration of a couple in love!

WALKING DOWN THE AISLE: Like many families, the family politics can have an impact on the big day, but Harry and Meghan turned any obstacles into positives. I thought that walking confidently into church alone and meeting Prince Charles halfway was a great idea of the new Duchess of Sussex.

THE COUPLE: What’s not to love about these two – a real life lovable Prince Charming and a beautiful independent woman who together, seem to make a pretty powerful team and moving forward, I think that that these two really will make a difference to the world!

THE FLOWERS: Philippa Craddock and her team created the incredible floral displays and the floral arch outside the chapel was magnificent. We loved to hear that the flowers were made into hand tied arrangements and delivered to hospices and womens refuges across London…. and the fact that Harry chosen the flowers from the royal garden the day before the wedding is such a special touch too.

THE OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS: The official photographer was Alexi Lubomirski who also took the couples official engagement photographs. These traditional formal shots were everything we expect from a Royal wedding and captured perfectly by Alexi.

BEER PONG!: According to the media, Tennis super star Serena Williams played beer pong at the evening reception and if that’s true, we wish more than ever that we’d been there to witness the celebrations in person!
